Peer Editing

The Writing Process

PREWRITE:  Brainstorm and organize your ideas. Use a thinking map or other graphic organizer to help you organize your thoughts.

DRAFT:  Write a "sloppy copy." Don't worry about spelling and punctuation, just get your thoughts down on the paper! Skip lines so you can make changes later!

REVISE: This is the most important part of the writing process! Each time you work on your paper, you can make it better! First EDIT: you can add, delete, replace and move things around! Then PROOFREAD: fix spelling, punctuation, capitalization, indentation and grammar

PUBLISH: When your paper is as close to perfect as possible, now it's time to publish. Think about your formatting, add illustrations, make it pop!
